Tell us what is wrong

One form. A person reads every request, and it goes to a plumber licensed in Illinois who covers your town.

What to put in the form

You do not need to write much. Four things get us started.

  • Where the water is. Under a sink, at the heater, in the basement, or somewhere behind a wall.
  • When it started. Today, last month, or only after heavy rain.
  • Your town. The plumber who takes it is the one who already covers your streets.
  • How urgent it feels. Standing water is not the same as a slow drain, and we sort them differently.

North Shore Plumbing connects Lake County homeowners with a licensed local plumber. We are not a plumbing contractor.

If it is worse than a leak

This form is not an emergency line, and nobody is watching it at three in the morning.

If you smell gas, do not send a form. Leave the house, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. In Lake County that is Nicor Gas or North Shore Gas, depending on the town.

If water is near an electrical panel or outlets, cut the power to that area at the breaker first, and only if the panel is dry and you can reach it safely. If it is wet, or you have to wade to get to it, leave it and call 911.

If water is running and you cannot stop it, shut the main valve before you do anything else. It is usually near the water meter, or where the supply line enters the basement. Turn it clockwise until it stops.

What happens next

A person reads every request. If the description is thin, we come back with a question. Then it goes to a plumber licensed in Illinois who covers your town, and they contact you to quote and schedule the job.

We cannot promise how fast that call comes, because the plumber sets their own schedule. If we cannot place your request with a licensed plumber who covers your town, we tell you so rather than leave you waiting. How it works has the process in full.

Please keep these out of the form

No card numbers, no account passwords, and no copies of documents. Nothing here needs them.

Where your details go

Your request goes only to the plumber who receives it, and that plumber may pay us for the introduction. We do not sell or rent details to marketers, data brokers, or lead lists, and we do not send one request out for several companies to bid on. The privacy policy has the detail.
