Terms of service

Short terms for a simple service. Read them before you send a request.

When this was last updated

This page was last updated on September 17, 2026. North Shore Plumbing operates this site from Illinois. Using the site means you accept these terms.

What this service is

North Shore Plumbing takes plumbing requests from Lake County homeowners and passes them to a licensed plumbing contractor. That is the whole service. It is a referral service, and it is free to the homeowner.

What this service is not

We are not a plumbing contractor. We do not hold a plumbing license. We do not carry out plumbing work, we do not supervise it, we do not set or quote the price, and we do not warrant or guarantee it. We do not inspect the work, and we do not resolve disputes about it.

Who you contract with

Any agreement for the work itself is between you and the plumbing contractor. Price, schedule, payment, materials, warranty, and any dispute about the work are theirs and yours to settle. We are not a party to that contract, and nothing on this site forms one.

Checking the contractor yourself

Passing a request on is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a vetting report. You are free to ask any plumber for their Illinois plumbing license number and their state plumbing contractor registration before you agree to anything, and we suggest you do. How it works explains what those two documents are.

What we promise, and what we do not

We promise to read your request, and either to pass it on or to tell you we cannot.

We do not promise that a plumber is available, that anyone will accept your request, or that a plumber will contact you at all. We do not promise a response time or an arrival time. Availability depends on the contractor, not on us.

Emergencies

This site is not an emergency service, and the form is not monitored around the clock. If you smell gas, leave the house and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. If there is a risk to life, property, or the electrical supply, call 911. Do not wait on a form.

How this site is paid

The site is free for homeowners. We may receive a fee from a plumbing contractor for an introduction. That fee is paid by the contractor, not by you, and it does not change the price you agree for the work.

Images on this site

Some photographs and illustrations on this site are illustrative and were generated with AI. They show the kind of work described, not a specific job, a specific property, or a real person or crew.

Your part

Send accurate details. Do not send anyone else's personal details without their agreement, and do not use the form for anything other than a genuine plumbing request. If the situation changes before anyone contacts you, tell us.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent Illinois law allows, North Shore Plumbing is not liable for the plumbing work itself, for anything a contractor does or fails to do, for any delay in contacting you, or for any loss, damage, or cost that follows from any of those. The site is provided as it is, with no warranty that it will be available or error free.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute about them belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in Illinois.

Changes

We can change these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top changes whenever the text does.

Getting in touch

Questions about these terms go through the contact form. The privacy policy covers what happens to the details you send.
